46 Fascinating Facts About Me- Part 2

in Self Awareness

dad and kids6) I grind my teeth when I sleep. Hard. When I was a kid I was so loud that I used to wake up everyone in the house. I still grind my teeth, but now I wear a mouth guard and I bite the living shit out of that thing. The dentist said the one I currently wear is indestructible, but after a week I had already chewed it in half.

7) I like to bite. I can’t help but think that this is related to my teeth grinding. I got suspended in kindergarten for biting (in my defense the girl wouldn’t get off the swings so I grabbed her by the ankle, dragged her off the swings and bit her arm.) There is a very good chance that if we ever get in a fight that I will go straight to biting. I’m a chicken shit that way. And seriously, don’t ever put anything near my mouth because I will bite it. Cheryl once challenged this fact and stuck her finger in my mouth to prove I wouldn’t bite it. I did. She ended up pissed with a bloody finger.

8) I work as a noon-supervisor at a elementary school, on the way to work I like to listen to 70’s power ballads. Except on Wednesdays. Wednesdays suck so I listen to hard rock. Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch. The harder the better.

9) When I was 11 my Mom caught our kitchen on fire while trying to cook Chinese food. I was in my room reading a book and never heard the commotion. Eventually I came out of my room to see why dinner was taking so long and was instantly surrounded by firemen, water hoses and smoke fans. The rest of my family was safely across the street at our emergency meeting place. To this day they all claim they didn’t call me because they didn’t know I was home. And to this day I don’t believe them…

10) I had pet rats growing up. They literally were the coolest pets ever. They were smart, exceptionally clean and very trainable. I named them Simon and Garfunkel, Jabberwocky and The Captain and Tenile. I also had a field mouse I caught on the way home from school. I named it Apple because it looked like an apple seed. I kinda think Gwyneth and Chris Martin named their daughter after my mouse.

11) I will do almost anything once and the fun things twice! My perspective on life is do it. If you hate it, you have an interesting story to tell and if you love it, you will have an interesting story to tell. Either way you have something to share with your grandkids.

Until tomorrow.

So your new found love for Walking Dead must have some inspiration in being a biter? I got bit by my friend’s pet rat in 4th grade. We had the rat at school before the days when stuff like that was frowned upon. The school nurse was not amused.

Karen- I was a biter before TWD but maybe that’s why I like the show so much! My rats didn’t bite but the did pee and poop on strangers.

We had pet rats growing up, too. I loved them. Cant’ even imagine it now, but they did make great pets.
