A Visual Description of Cheryl and I

in Family, Funny Stuff

Cheryl and I are very different people. If you spend five minutes with us that statement becomes very obvious. But when people ask how we are different I always have a difficult time answering. Saying she is quiet or saying I am the loud one seems so blasé. Saying I am rambunctious and that she is calm makes it seem like I am immature and she is mature (which is totally true but so not the point I am trying to make.) Then one day I was making the bed (at 6:45pm, right before Cheryl pulls into the driveway after work…) and it hit me! THIS is a great way to explain how different we are! Our nightstands exemplify the personalities of who we are.

This is what is on Cheryl’s nightstand.

  • Lamp
  • Alarm Clock – which is 15 years old and still plays the same CD that I listened to when it was my alarm clock. That’s right. The same song has woken Cheryl up for the past 15 years.
  • Coaster
  • A cute little plaque with a cute little saying that I got her for Valentines day a few years ago.

This is my nightstand…I’m not even sure where to start…I guess left to right.

  • Lamp
  • Battery operated candle from BlogHer12
  • Phone
  • A book I have been trying to finish for almost a year
  • Wrist brace (yes, I sleep with it on. Don’t judge.)
  • Reading glasses
  • Silk eye cover thingy so you can sleep during the day.  I’ve never used it but it’s there should I need it.
  • iPad
  • Beats headphones
  • Thyroid medication
  • 6 Burt’s Bee’s lip balms
  • Notepad for all those late night blog thoughts OR things to do OR things to remember OR things I need Cheryl to do.
  • Orange pen that barely shows up when you use it on paper so I never can read whatever it is that I wrote.
  • Book light, which I don’t use to read. I use it to find my Burt’s Bee’s in the middle of the night.
  • Ceiling fan remote.
  • TV remote
  • Kleenex
  • Glass of water
  • Alarm clock with my iPhone charger

So, that should clear up any questions you may have.

Not to mention the bare wall on Cheryl’s side and yours all decorated! LOVE this post! John and I are the same-I’m all cluttered with “essentials” on my side too!

Lola- I was going to go into detail on all of my lucky “things” but, well, ran out of steam!

Is 6 your lucky number? Do you always have 6 Burt’s Bees or that just happens to be how many are there now? What book can’t you finish? I have soooooooo many questions!

😀

Tara- I always have multiple Burt’s Bee’s incase I lose one. The number isn’t relative as long as I feel secure that I have enough! The book is The Chase by Janet Evanovich, it’s actually a good book I just haven’t had the motivation to finish it!
