Cheers to Andrew!

June 30, 2013

in Boys will be Boys, Family

This week has been a blur of 8th grade activities.

Andrew had his awards ceremony (it was last week…but still) 8th grade dinner dance on Wednesday, In-Laws in town Thursday, promotion Friday and off to Washington DC for his 8th grade trip on Saturday.

8th grade awards:  PTSA Student Representative Recognition, W.E.B. Leader Award, Silver Presidents Award for 3.50 G.P.A, Principals Silver Honor Guard Award for maintaining a 3.75 -3.99 over the past two years and California Junior Scholarship Foundation medal for completing all 6 semesters with a 3.5 G.P.A and completing 20 hours of community service.

8th grade dinner dance. Looking fly with the bow tie!

**And yes, I do realize that rhyme about the bow tie made it a lot less cool. Just shut up.

8th Grade Promotion!  It was roasting at the ceremony. I mean Africa hot. Probably like hell (which means I should get used to it.) But the ceremony was wonderful and of course, I cried.

Or it was sweat.

I’m not sure which.

Then he headed off to Washington D.C. bright and early on Saturday. What a great way to end his middle school years! While he is gone I am busy labeling and packing his stuff for Civil Air Patrol Encampment. The good news is that I have a very detailed list to follow. The bad news is I don’t know what half the shit on the list is.

I hope I guess right.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
