Gay Marriage, Prop 8 & Ellen

gayI’ve been asked a hundred times this past week about my thoughts on Prop 8 being in the Supreme Court.

Well, duh. Of course I want it over-turned.

I feel it’s the right thing to do.

I don’t mind if you are against same-sex marriage. That’s your choice, I’m going to respect your thoughts on the matter and I’d appreciate you giving me the same level of respect in return.

The bottom line is, this is a personal issue and it doesn’t belong in government.

If you want to think it’s wrong in the confines of your home, then go right ahead.

If you want to worship at a church that thinks it’s a sin, knock yourself out.

But let’s not vote on it.

I firmly believe people should only vote on issues that personally concerns them. If you’re not gay and are not going to get gay married, then don’t vote on it. The issue obviously doesn’t apply to you.

As for the Supreme Court, I hope they do the right thing and set the tone for things to come. Wouldn’t it be beautiful if our children’s generation could grow up in a world where they could be and do anything they want without fear of people voting them down and making them feel like second class citizens?

I personally think it would be great.

Honest, truth and sincerity. Nothing wrong with that.
