Trying Not to Break the Bank

classrinfdrewYou know what’s pressure?

Having a kid in High School.

Or should I say, having a kid in a special academic program and in a sport while he attends high school.

It’s downright bank breaking.

To counteract the inventible onslaught of financial necessities he will need over the next four years, Cheryl and I took note from our hood friend (really. That’s not a typo. She lives in our ‘hood’) Lisa and decided to order his class ring while he was a Freshman. 1) He gets to wear it all four years. 2) We get to spread out the expenses to make it easier on the pocket book.

Smart, right?

So this year we buy the ring, next year (hopefully) we get the letterman’s jacket, Junior year we pay for all the college entrance exams and Senior year we mortgage the house to pay for all the graduation stuff.

It’s a good plan AND he loves the ring!
